Damali was born in Durham NC. As a self taught artist, Damali has always loved art since childhood. Damali states, “I used to draw mostly as a child, and as a young adult I became more interested in painting. Painting is like therapy to me. It's like a peaceful place to release all my deepest thoughts onto a canvas.“
“Painting this piece/letter "M" has made me think about what's going on in the world. And even with all that's going on I'm still able to smile and hopefully make others smile. I titled it, 'Where Is Peace On Earth" because that's what this world needs, but most of us don't know how to find it.”
